“Facial oils are much more effective when used WITH water-based (aqueous) serums, just like a key that fits perfectly into a lock.”
Our skin has hydrolipidic protection — a delicate balance of water (from sweat and the deeper layers) and oil (from sebum and epidermal lipids).
Science shows that oil and water don’t mix, but in truth they complement each other very well to preserve the skin’s hydrolipidic balance. When this protective layer isn’t balanced, it can’t play its barrier role: skin dries, dehydrates and becomes uncomfortable. Some people are born with dry skin (genetics), and some dryness is triggered by medications, anti-cancer treatments, etc.
Picture your skin as a sponge: a dry sponge absorbs little, while a damp (not soggy) sponge absorbs and holds better. Damp skin therefore absorbs formulas much faster.
At Corpa Flora, we work on nutrition with our facial oils and hydration with our hyaluronic-acid booster serums (Antidote HB5 and H+). The serums moisturize the skin, allowing good absorption of the oils and optimizing results — like a key in its lock. This approach is versatile, economical and requires fewer preservatives: oils (without water) don’t need them. It also lets you adjust the dosage of each formula to your skin’s daily needs, without changing products.
How do we preserve the hydrolipidic film?
1. Avoid harsh soaps. Our cleansing oils are gentle and help restore the hydrolipidic film.
2. Omegas and ceramides: a perfect match. Corpa Flora facial oils contain good essential fatty acids (omega 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9) that strengthen the lipid cement (ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids), essential to the balance of the skin microbiota.
